Orchard Park
This park features a well-lit, ADA-compliant asphalt trail, ideal for walking or jogging, with marked distances. A serene pond enhances the park’s charm, while picnic tables, grills, and benches provide a welcoming space for families. Towering pecan trees, some over 70 years old, create a picturesque, shaded setting. The park also includes a lectern and seating, making it a perfect venue for outdoor classrooms or events. No motorized vehicles allowed on track under penalty of $250 fine plus damages.
Orchard Park is Home to the “Mayor’s Mansion” Bird House erected on March 12, 2010. This is a 26 apartment 3 story purple martin house. The Mayor's Mansion is set to house purple martins, a bird species that migrate from Brazil to North America and Canada. Purple martins are colony dwellers, which means they live as a group in one dwelling or house with many nest compartments. While traveling north in the spring they establish new colonies and also return to the old housing to breed, raise their young and eventually migrate back to Brazil for the winter season.
